Locomotion Methods

Auto Teleport

Description

Auto Teleport will place you instantly in the path of incoming shots. To further tweak your position beyond the automated placement the thumbstick can be used to change position in a Micro or Macro way.

Micro is simple thumbstick locomotion to further tweak your position after an auto teleport.

Macro is large court based position changes using the thumbstick to snap up towards the kitchen, retreat back into deep court or baseline to catch a shot, or right/left to be placed left or right of an incoming shot. When you snap up to kitchen you will stay pushed up for all further incoming shots unless you pull your self back using a Macro adjustment, or if you step far enough away from the kitchen using real life positioning or Micro position yourself back into deep court, or finally if an unreachable shot is hit towards you at the kitchen, such as a lob. At that point the automated locomotion will teleport you away from the kitchen to catch the shot, and to re-push up to kitchen you will have to Macro adjust forward or Micro move yourself to the front part of the court again.

If you wish to stay at the kitchen even when a lob passes overhead that would ordinarily pull you back, you can hold forward in macro mode and you will not be pulled back.

Thumbstick Controls

Macro Controls (default behavior)
Use [thumbstick] [forward]/[back] to snap to kitchen/deep court (the depth adjusts to incoming shots).
Use [thumbstick] [right]/[left] to be placed on the preferred forehand or backhand side of a shot.

Micro Controls (only activated while [Grip] is held)
Use [thumbstick] to smooth locomote and tweak your automated teleport position.

If you prefer inverted [Grip] behavior the use the [Inverted Micro/Macro on Grip] option.

Auto Run

Favorite

Description and controls are exactly like Auto Teleport, the difference is the motion will be smoothed motion towards the target point instead of an instant teleport.

This is the devs favorite option short of having a full court space to run around manually.

Thumbstick

Smooth thumbstick based motion, hold down the [Grip] button to enter a faster sprint speed.

Roomscale

There will be no locomotion during an active point, and the thumbstick locomotion is turned off. This is if you have a very large play area and want to run manually.

Outside of a point you will be shown service areas visually marked on the court to walk to.
